'Tis the season for being thankful and I am truly thankful this year. The motivation to grow to do more than just events, but true publisher community advocacy, is only because I think all of you see the need as well. Thank you to our community members and our partners. Thank you to an amazing team – a team that must fear when I start a sentence off with, "I have an idea..."

That being said, more and more the team is saying, "we've got an idea..." For example, Dayna thought I had to include my Yoda Beeler picture in the newsletter and here I am obliging. Sure, I don't look happy about it, but don't think for a second that these weren't a hit at the conference.

Listen: we've got big plans for 2023 – bigger than my ears – and for that, I say thank you once again.

Lots of responses to the article in AdExchanger “Publishers, Your Top Ops Talent Needs Your Attention” on LinkedIn. I just have to re-emphasize the point that when your top operation talent leaves, you’re going to find yourself hobbled. Prepare for that eventuality while doing what you can to retain your best people. Ad Ops rockstars: I can’t tell you not to chase the money and go vendor-side, but it would be nice if some of you would stay and if you do go, come back. I think the most fulfilling part of our industry is helping people create great content. I think you’ll find you’ll make more of a difference, even if it comes with more headaches.

The most important conference for publisher revenue executives is heading to the UK! Base Camp brings together publisher revenue executives who are focused on increasing revenue for their businesses. We convene to address critical issues, discuss useful solutions for our toughest challenges, identify growth opportunities, and build meaningful relationships with peers in the community.

Base Camp: Newport Beach is being designed with you in mind. Ahead of the program, we'll host several pre-event calls so you can share what you'd like us to cover while we're together. We're planning the first call for late December.

During Base Camp, we'll leave plenty of time for the top discussions so that no conversation is cut short.  

New for this year, we're planning to engage the buy-side in the program, which will add a new dimension to our program -- more on that to come in the weeks ahead.
