Feb 28th: Let's show our support

articles Feb 28, 2022

I got this list from a Zack Rosenberg (CatapultX) post on Linkedin:

  • Global Giving: to provide clean water, food and shelter to refugees in Ukraine and surrounding regions
  • Hope for Ukraine: accepting donations to help citizens of Ukraine with basic necessities
  • Project Hope: sending medicine, supplies and aid to families in Ukraine
  • Save the Children: delivering essential humanitarian aid across the globe
  • World Help: providing food, water and other necessities to families in Ukraine

If you'd like a more personal connection, Iryna Liashchuk is in our industry and has family in the Ukraine. She’s suggested this site to help support the Ukraine army or the fund itself. It actually accepts bitcoin.

I am sure there are others in our community with ties to the Ukraine. Let's help them.

Also keep an eye on Nandini Jammi on Twitter as she works to expose the funding of disinformation through digital advertising. Judy Shapiro and I talked about her work on the podcast a couple of weeks ago.

Help someone close to us

Phil Eligio is currently battling cancer and he has created a fundraiser for his wife and daughter. Phil is very close to members of this community, so anything you can do to help, please do. Here's the site.

The Media/FinTech connection is not what you think

First of a series of podcasts exploring the intersection of media, FinTech and cryptocurrency. Forget monkey NFTs: FinTech could unlock new untapped marketplaces for media companies. To set the stage, our first episode is with Maceo Rémy and Sunil Sharma to dispel some myths and outline a strategy media companies should start to think through.

Beeler.Cast EP 205: Judy Shapiro
The Collapse of the Ad Tech Surveillance Economy

I know Judy as the Editor-In-Chief at the The Trust Web Times and she's doing a hell of a lot more than that.

AdTech is trying to cope with the triple dynamics of:

  1. Google targeting changes (FLoC to Topics);

  2. Increasing pressure for real AdTech user privacy; and

  3. Mounting realization that part of AdTech’s revenue engine is hate, shock, and misinformation content.
