A New Era - October 2020

Few people are as inextricably connected to a brand as I am with AdMonsters. Poll ad ops people and the majority of people would probably say I started AdMonsters. They’d be wrong. That being said, for the past 12 years I’ve lived/breathed AdMonsters. I still bleed AdMonsters red. If I had a tattoo, it would be of that bubble.
But like a musician who is known for his work with one band, I’ve dabbled with my own side projects for some time.  I’ve always considered myself an operations person first and an events person second. I want to solve problems. I want to get to the next level and help others get there as well.  I feel like that shows up in the event work I do. But solving problems and getting to the next level is more than just events. It’s why I started consulting a couple years ago and getting my hands dirty again. It’s why I started programs like First Impressions and In View. Those are just the start: I have a lot of ideas of how to turn conversations into actions.
I will continue to advise AdMonsters. I will be there when they need me. It is however time for me to give more attention to side projects that have turned into a real business.
Beeler.Tech is now more than just myself. With Melissa Chapman's help, I've started to assemble a team to help scale up our capabilities. 
It’s not just a new era for me, but for the industry as a whole. Existential threats grow more existentaler (okay, I made that word up). The road ahead for digital media and advertising has never been less clear. We are in uncharted territory and we’re only moving faster.
Combine that uncertainty with a pandemic that has changed how we communicate and connect. Right when we need to get together, we cannot. There are aspects of our jobs that are better because we are virtual, but a lot has been lost in the transition. What worked before will not work in 2021.
I’ve got a plan for 2021. My plan is to help publishers and their advertisers get to the other side of the changes ahead. My plan is to help inform solution providers what they need to do and help plug them into the conversations they need to help drive. My plan is to evolve as we learn what works in helping drive positive results. I want to work with people who want to try things and learn together what works and what doesn’t.
That’s my main objective for 2021: in a multitude of ways connect the people in a who are trying to solve our industry’s issues and start solving them.
